7/12/08 - B&B Hosts Guitar Hero Tourney at AMC Fork & Screen Grand Opening!

Battle & Brew, along with M3 Productions, hosted a series of Guitar Hero Tournaments at the AMC Fork & Screen Grand Opening. Rock 100.5 was also there. Thanks to everyone that came out. It was a blast. Check out the pics on our facebook page

6/04/08 - Highland Gaelic Now On Tap

Come in and try this great brew from North Carolina. It's a nice entry level beer for those who want to start drinking good beer, but don't want to get knocked out by some of the stronger selections out there.

4/12/2008 - Halo 3 4v4 League - Take 2 - Registration Now Open!

Registration is now open for the second season of IGames Halo 3 4v4 League. Teams of 4 will compete for $1,500 in Cash prizes against teams from across the country. Interested teams should register at IGames.org and then come to Battle & Brew to pay the $80 team registration fee. Teams will them compete every Thursday from April 24th - May 29th. If your team is ranked in the top 16 then you will go on to compete in the playoffs through June.

4/09/2008 - Weekly Super Smash Bros Brawl Tournaments kick off at Battle & Brew

Battle & Brew hosted its first Super Smash Bros Brawl tourney, Wednesday. Thanks to everyone that came. 12 players duked it out on two of our Big Screen TVs to determine the SSB Champ of the week. If you missed it - come out next week when www.SmashDraft.com will be hosting a Smash Draft Tournament. Given the strong tournout - we'll be holding these weekly tourneys for the forseeable future.

4/02/2008 - SHINE A LIGHT Movie Premier w/ Battle & Brew

Battle & Brew hosted a Guitar Hero Tournament at the Movie Premier for Scorcese's "SHINE A LIGHT" Rockumentary of the Rolling Stones. Thanks for all that came out - we we thrilled to be a part of this exciting event. Our B&B Running Crew enjoyed exclusive reserved seating for the premier, rubbing elbows with the likes of Christina Aguilera, Jack White, and Keith Richards ... at least that's what I imagined when I fell asleep during the movie.

3/15/2008 - The Club Championship Tournament

Battle & Brew was proud to be one of only 16 game centers chosen to compete in a national tournament for 'The Club'. 14 players came out to compete locally and earn a spot to represent Battle & Brew in the National Tournament. Although representing B&B in and of itself is more reward than most anyone could ask for, our two official competitors - Trevor and Logan, went on to each win over $100 in cash prizes. Congrats!

2/08/2008 - New Delicious Brew on Tap

Battle & Brew is now offering Victory Storm King Stout on-tap. Storm King is a High Grav (9%) Russian Imperial Stout featuring a nice hop aroma with a smooth roast malt finish. Come in and try a pint of this delicious brew.

1/31/2008 - Halo 3 4v4 League Kicks Off

For the 1st time Battle & Brew is participating in a nation-wide Halo 3 4v4 League with $1,500 in cash prizes up for grabs. We had to cap the number of teams to 3 for our inaugural season. Good Luck to Genetallica, Russian Mafia, and Clan Eep as they compete against other LAN center teams across the country. Represent?

9/29/2007 - 2nd Year Anniversary and Halo 3 Tourney!

Battle & Brew is turning 2! Thanks to everyone to came out to celebrate our 2nd year anniversary and compete in our hotly contested Halo 3 2v2 Tourney. Congrats to the Lozano brothers who took home top honors, $140 in cash, and other prizes.

7/27/2007 - Guitar Hero - Rock's the 80's Release Party and Tourney

Battle & Brew held a release party and tourney for the latest Guitar Hero release 'Rock the 80s'. After being soundly thumped at the last tournament, Manny returned and progressed to the finals where he faced reigning champion, Austen. Manny battled feverishly to match Austen's skill and well timed Star Power, but to no avail. Austen defended his title to remain the Guitar Hero Champion.

7/14/2007 - Gears of War 2v2 Tourney

Battle & Brew held a Gears of War 2v2 tournament. The competition was strong in this double elimination tourney. Winners took home $40 cash and $40 B&B House cash.

5/19/07 - Wii Sports Tournament Sponsored by eMagination Computer Camps

Battle & Brew held a Wii Sports tournament where players competed in a Triathalon of Tennis, Bowling, and Boxing on the Nintendo Wii. There was much excitement as gamers pitted their virtual athletic skills against one another. In the end, "The Great Young Hope",Trevor, faced off against the people's champion, Joseph, but came up short. Joe walked away with a free Nintenedo Wii! 4/09/07 - Guitar Hero II on 360 Release Party and Tournament Sponsored by Activision

Battle & brew held a release party for Guitar Hero II on 360 sponsored by Activision. A huge crowd was on hand to check out Guitar Hero II on 360 and compete against the Atlanta area's top talent. The crowd favorite, 'Princess', looked to be the front runner. Unfortunately, Princess faltered in the semi-finals leaving the door open for Austen to claim victory with consistent play throughout. Austen took home a GH2 Multiplayer bundle pack.

Controversy was later sparked when Princess beat Austen twice in exhibition play following the tournament. This heated rivalry will surely continue. It's also worth noting that previous champion, Manny, was quickly knocked out of the tournamen in the 1st round. Perhaps overconfident, Manny chose not to warm up at all prior to the start of the tourney. The AP was also on hand to cover the event - article here -

3/19/2007 - PS3 is Here!

We have now added a Playstation 3 to our offerings - thus completing our next-gen collection of PC, 360, Wii, and PS3.  Admittedly, we were originally pretty down on the PS3; it's expensive, most of the games are already on 360, and the graphics are only marginally better than 360.  However, once you play Motor Storm on our 55" LCD HDTV you will see why we had to bring one in.  It is truly an amazing game with physics and particle effects that are unmatched.  We're still sticking to Xbox 360 for the bulk of our console lineup with it's Xbox Live and System Link capabilities, but now we have something for all the Playstation fanboys out there too.  Look for even more console offerings coming soon..

2/24/2007 - Battlestations Midway Tourney over Xbox Live

Battle & Brew competed in a Battlestations Midway Tourney sponsored by Microsoft.  The tournament was held over Xbox Live against other LAN centers across the country.  Our team got waxed, but still had fun playing this impressive action strategy title.

12/08/2006 - Challenge the Developers - Red Orchestra Tournament

Battle & Brew hosted a Red Orchestra Tourney with the game's developers - Tripwire Interactive.  B & B was completely filled with RO on each and every PC!  11 Tripwire developers were on hand from around the globe to take on Red Orchestra fans in Team Vs. Team battle.  Expecting the Dev Team to totally own, one lone developer joined the Fan Team to assume the role of Commander.  After much 'strategery' and many heated battles, it was actually the Fan Team that triumphed!  Even more surpising was the top player for the Fan Team, who was none other than 10-year-old Trevor W!  Trevor embarrased the rest of the field with 84 points compared to the next highest 70 points.  Trevor walked away with an Nvidia 7800GTX Graphics card and a framed Red Orchestra poster signed by the whole RO development team!  2nd place won a Logitech cordless G7 laser mouse, while 3rd won an All Day pass to Battle & Brew and an Aeon Flux DVD.  Thanks to everyone that came out and a big thanks to Tripwire for coming out and especially for bringing such kick ass prizes. 

11/08/2006 - Guitar Hero II Release Party and COOP Tourney

Battle & Brew hosted a release party for the amazing Guitar Hero II game.  We gave away prizes and held a COOP tourney where Zack and Bob took home top honors.

8/19/2006 - Madden 2007 Release Party and Tourney Sponsored by EBGames

Battle & Brew held a Madden 06 tourney to gear up for the upcoming Madden 07 release next week.  EB Games sponsored the event and provided prizes for the winners including a free copy of Madden 07!  The turnout was great - maxing out with a full 16 player bracket.  The Konsole Kingz even dropped by to check things out.  There were some mad skills on display,  but in the end Adam G won the tourney and a copy of Madden 07 for Xbox.  Thanks to everyone who came out!

7/27/2006 - Guitar Hero Tournament #3

Battle & Brew held its 3rd Guitar Hero Tourney.  Although the turnout was lite, we did have our best on hand to battle it out.  In the end Manny asserted his dominance in GH with completion %'s in the upper 90's on Expert.  Since Manny now works at B&B he was ineligible to win the prizes however, so previously reigning champ 'Mutant Bob Forsman' took home a $25 Gift Card from Rhino Games by winning 2nd place.  In the Ladies Division, Sunnie bested Lara on Hard Difficulty proving that having bodacious tats is no hinderance to rockin out!

6/21/2006 - Challenge Team KSI Halo 2 Tourney Sponsored by Rhino Games

Battle & Brew hosted its 1st Halo 2 Tourney.  Rhino Games sponsored the event and provided T-Shirts for everyone and Gift Cards for the winners.  "Ender" dominated the FFA competition and took home a Gift Card from Rhino.  The KSI Pro team was on hand to pwn any noobs with the cahones to challenge them.  Manny and Ender put up a barely respecable effort with a 50-7 loss to KSI.

4/29/2006 - Aeon Flux Release Party with 105.3 - The Buzz

Battle & Brew hosted an Aeon Flux Release Party with 105.3 The Buzz.  More than 30 gamers got to try out the Aeon Flux PS2 game and walked away with Aeon Flux DVDs, Aeon Flux Video Games, and one lucky winner took home a brand new slim PS2!

4/13/2006 - Guitar Hero Tournament #2 Sponsored by Harmonix

Battle & Brew hosted it's 2nd Guitar Hero Tourney and the skill level has really amped up since the 1st Tourney.  Tournaments in the Hard and Expert divisions were held.  The Tourney was sponsored by Harmonix (but not Red Octane) who provided two awesome posters signed by the entire GH development team along with some cool T-Shirts.

Corey "Fret Fingers" Martin soundly owned the Hard division smushing Manny into a pea sized poop ball, but met stiff competition in the Expert Division.

Among the experts, Bob "For the People" Forsman sailed through to the finals with a record of 4-0 in the prelims. The other finalist spot was closely contested by Corey, Syl "The Still" Turner, and "Megadeth Matt" as all three went 2-2 in the prelims. In the end it was Corey who edged past the others to go to face Bob in the finals. Having not lost a single round - it seemed that Bob would dominate the finals, but not so. Both competitors matched each other's %s almost exactly in each round. Corey won the first round by a mere 500 pts and it seemed that an upset was in the making, but Bob came back and won the last two rounds to become the Expert Guitar Hero of Battle & Brew!

3/10/2006 - Guitar Hero Tourney

Battle & Brew hosted its 1st Guitar Hero Tourney!  The finals came down to Dew and Corey "Fret Fingers" Martin who took the crown with a 100 pt differential win.  Congrats Corey!

2/02/2006 - Battle & Brew Re-Opens!

We are now Re-Openned!  Thanks to everyone that came out to our Grand Re-Opening celbration last Thursday - it was a blast.  If you haven't been in yet - come on by for a pint of the new Terrapin - Wake and Bake and check out our new PCs and Sony Monitors.  We also have two new surround sound gaming chairs in our Xbox 360 Lounge. 

1/13/2006 - Friday the 13th - Burnout Revenge

A car drove through the B&B last Friday. Yes, you read that correctly, a car drove through B&B last Friday (the 13th) leaving much PC carnage in its wake.  As a result we will be temporarily closed while we conduct repairs.  Thankfully no one was injured in the accident. 

11/15/2005 - GRAND OPENING with 105.3 - The Buzz

Last Friday we celebrated our Grand Opening with 105.3 - The Buzz.  Thanks to everyone who came out.  The place was totally packed!  Photos from the event will soon be posted.  Congrats to the winners of the Half Life 2 Deathmatch and the Call of Duty 2 Deathmatch competitions and also to the many folks who beat up on Chris from 105.3 in Quake 4.  We had a lot of great giveaways.  I hope you all had a blast and will come back soon.
